Hello

I'm a British writer who loves to explore the dark and fantastic realms of horror and science fiction. I also express my creativity through my artwork, which often reflects my passion for these genres.

My Story

I am a British writer and love to play around with horror and science fiction, even in my artwork.

I grew up on a steady diet of 80's synthpop, Megadeth, Gun's & Roses as well as B-Movie sci-fi and horror like the amazing Mad Max trilogy, Terminator, Alien, Bladerunner, the Thing, Dawn of the Dead, Re-Animator, the Fly, and anything 80's John Carpenter. It was an incredible time for music and film, and I embraced it wholeheartedly.

I've always been more movie based in my approach to storytelling as I was never much of a reader. I wanted to read more, but I never seemed to have the concentration. So, I drew more than I read. As a kid, I enjoyed watching the original Gen Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica series as well as the ever-popular Star Wars and Indiana Jones films. I was an 80's kid and arguably, it was the best decade ever made, although I hear the 60's were also pretty cool too.

I listen to a lot of audio books now, which I do while I'm doing the household chores and discovered H.P. Lovecraft later in life; great to listen to when hoovering. I'm also a fan of H.G. Wells too, and a massive fan of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds musical with Richard Burton narrating.

With all these influences I found I just wanted to add to it in my own small way. To this day I still get all excited about coming up with a new story idea.

My English teacher, towards my last years in school was really inspiring as she really awoke the whole thing, and when the task from her was to write a story, I'd put every other bit of homework out of my mind, consequences and all and start to write. I seem to remember the term “creative imagination,” being used a lot. Mainly she found my spelling and grammar to be terrible. I still am bad at spelling and grammar. I may have improved a bit now, however for me, the story comes first and the spelling and grammar checker on Word comes later.

So, this is pretty much me. I’m an amateur writer who does this for nothing more than fun. Of course, if I make a bit of money out of it along the way, then who am I to complain? But realistically, I don’t think I’ll ever stop.
